鴨寮於民國62年建造，當時為謝記飼養鴨子之場地，民國97年時，鴨寮不敵颱風威力，建築慘遭摧殘，鴨寮呈現荒廢狀態至民國103年，謝記決定重新整修鴨寮，要保留其歷史及宣導養鴨文化，更要把上一代的故事，用心傳承並接續，故取名為「鴨寮故事館」。
